Upon entering Gran Gran’s house, the kitchen is located on the right-hand side where guests can help bake Gran Gran’s famous banana bread by searching all around for the required ingredients.
Opposite, on the left-hand side, is the sitting room where the main feature is a sofa from which guests can call Great Gran Gran in Saint Lucia using interactive screens. There is also a toy box which has a puzzle on its front, as well as hiding a secret tunnel into JoJo’s hideout in the garden.
Guests can also access the ‘garden’ by continuing through into the back of the building. This section has lots to do, from kicking autumn leaves, seeing spring flowers grow and exploring a maze. Guests can also try to find JoJo who is hiding somewhere!
JoJo & Gran Gran At Home replaced Charlie & Lola’s Moonsquirters and Green Drops for the 2022 season. The former attraction opened with CBeebies Land in 2014 in the site which had previously been home to the ever popular Alton Towers donkeys – George and Granville.
Charlie and Lola’s Moonsquirters & Green Drops operated for the final time during the usual pre-season events held ahead of the planned start of the 2020 season. Given the interactive nature of the attraction, following the COVID-19 pandemic it remained closed when the rest of the theme park reopened later in 2020 and then in 2021.
The space received a new lease of life for 2022, upon being rethemed to be based on the programme which begun airing in 2020 as the first animated series to centre on a Black British family.
