Alton Towers Resort has today announced that two kids’ favourites will be arriving in CBeebies Land for the 2019 season.
First up, Peter Rabbit and friends will be hopping into the Resort in the new ‘Peter Rabbit Hippity Hop’ ride. Young guests are invited to join Peter and Lily as they try to find playful Benjamin Bunny who has hidden in Mr McGregor’s garden. Guests will be invited to explore the garden and solve puzzles to try and find Benjamin’s hiding place, before being able to ‘unleash their inner bunny’ to hop high into the sky to see if they can spot Benjamin from the top of the ride.
In April, ‘Big Fun Showtime’ will welcome the Teletubbies, who will be performing a brand-new show, exclusive to CBeebies Land – ‘Teletubbies Big Band Live Show’! Performed twice daily, families will join Tinky-Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po in a musical extravaganza as they transport guests over the hills and far away to Teletubbyland, where they’ll get to play-along in an interactive music and dance filled performance. Following the show, guests will also get the chance to have a meet and greet with the Teletubbies before they wave Tubby Bye-bye.
These latest additions will join an already impressive line-up of children’s favourites in CBeebies Land, including Go Jetters, In the Night Garden, Postman Pat, and Furchester Hotel. Speaking about the new arrivals, James Walker, Marketing Director for Alton Towers Resort, said:
“We are really excited to further extend the fun-packed programme of entertainment and rides in CBeebies Land and bring to life even more TV favourites to captivate the imaginations of children.”
Natasha Spence, Live Entertainment, BBC Studios, said:
“CBeebies Land offers a brilliant opportunity for young children and their families to experience hands-on some of their favourite CBeebies shows and characters. The addition of the new Peter Rabbit ride and the exclusive Teletubbies live show is incredibly exciting and adds to what already is a rich portfolio of children’s brands.”
This isn’t the first time Peter Rabbit and friends have entertained families at Alton Towers Resort. Between 1994-2001, ‘Peter Rabbit and Friends on Ice’ delighted guests as it told the story of Peter, alongside many other of Beatrix Potter’s much-loved characters, including Mrs Tiggywinkle and Jeremy Fisher.
