With the grand opening of the CBeebies Land Hotel just over a month away, the finishing touches are starting to be placed throughout Alton Towers Resort’s newest accommodation. We take a look at the latest progress.
At what will be the main entrance to the hotel, the last of the scaffolding has been removed, revealing the front façade of the building for the first time. On either side of each of the windows on this front façade themed shutters have been added, in-keeping with the CBeebies theme. The automatic glass entrance doors have now also been installed.
Around the back of the hotel significant progress has been made on the paving and landscaping for the outdoor areas with many of the paths now laid, and rocks and planting being put in place.
At the far end of the building, work is continuing on the fire escape with all of the staircase now installed, and metal barriers now being added and what looks to be further wooden cladding ready to be attached.
Inside the building, many of the guest bedrooms appear to either be complete or nearing completion. Although it is difficult to be certain, from what can be seen from the outside it would appear that the themed bedrooms will be located on the top floor, with the standard ‘Bugbies’ rooms on the remaining floors.
Merlin Magic Making are also now on site, suggesting that installation is underway of the main interior theming elements, as well as set up for the entertainment areas which will play host to a programme of entertainment throughout the day and into the evening.
