Despite the recent spell of cold weather construction has been steadily progressing on the Enchanted Village at the Alton Towers Resort. TowersTimes takes a look at the latest developments.
With the opening of the new accommodation now less than three months away work on each individual cluster is moving swiftly along. The first cluster of lodges, nearest the hotel, are having finishing touches applied to their exterior with the area in front of the lodges being landscaped and turfed and young trees being planted around the cluster. It would appear that the completed lodges have been connected up to the utilities and have undergone part of their quality control process.
Turf and plants have been delivered ready for the landscaping to be completed in the second cluster indicating that these will soon be completed. Service sheds have also been installed between clusters – it is currently thought that these could be used to store the cleaning and maintenance materials when the lodges are in operation.
The infrastructure is in place for the remaining lodges yet to be installed and lodges are still being steadily delivered to the overflow car parks with a number awaiting installation.
Steady progress is also being made on the luxury treehouses with the outside cladding being completed on the treehouse nearest the hotel. Balconies also appear to have been installed in preparation for the hot tubs which it is thought will be one of the final elements to be installed.
