Saturday 23rd March 2013
The Alton Towers theme park has once again fallen victim to the predicted snowfall this weekend. For the second day in a row, the park has been forced to close due to the snow that has fallen overnight.
Alton Towers have posted this on their official Facebook page:
“We are very sorry to have to confirm that we will not be opening Alton Towers Theme Park today, as we had hoped and planned yesterday. Heavy snowfall overnight across Staffordshire has made this impossible – we are sorry for the disappointment that this will cause to those who were planning to visit today, but the health and safety of our guests and employees has to be our priority and we have placed it above all else. Any tickets pre-booked for Friday 22nd or Saturday 23rd March will now be revalidated for another date during our season”.
As with the procedures on Friday 22nd, all guests will be able to return to the theme park later on in the year using the tickets that have the date 23rd March 2013 printed on them.
Sunday 24th March 2013
Alton Towers have also just announced the decision to keep the theme park closed on Sunday 24th March. On Twitter, Alton Towers posted:
“SUNDAY 24th – We are very sorry to have to confirm that we will not be opening Alton Towers Theme Park tomorrow – more information to follow”.
TowersTimes will be keeping you up to date with all the news and information on park closures as soon as we get them.
