Today, the two recent planning applications have been updated on the Staffordshire Moorlands Council Planning Portal to include descriptions of each of the applications which both appear to be relating to the Blackhole Tent Site.
The first planning application (11/01205/CONSER) is a Conservation Area Consent has now been updated with the description “Demolition of Existing Structures (inc. Black Hole) to facilitate new rollercoaster”.
The second planning application (11/01203/FUL) is likely to be the ride/attraction which will be on the Blackhole Site and has been updated with the description “Demolition of Existing Structures and Installation of New Rollercoaster, including associated ground works, buildings and landscaping”.
These descriptions now strongly suggest that it is indeed the makings of the codenamed SW7 ride contained within these applications, but further evidence is still to be uncovered to confirm the exact nature of the plans – hopefully revealed when the full application is validated and placed online by the council.
The Blackhole Tent has sat unused for a number of years, except for Scarefest 2011 when it was used for the Boiler House and Carnival of Screams scaremazes.
