Alton Towers have released another Scarefest treat on their countdown calendar, today’s revelation comes in the form of the park map for the Scarefest event showing the many additional attractions, plus a little surprise for eagle-eyed fans of the park.
The map confirms what has been widely known about the mazes for the 2011 event, with the main change being that the two “pay to use” scaremazes are now in the park itself. The map also suggests the respective entrances of the two mazes, with the Carnival of Screams located at the bottom of the old Black Hole tent and The Boiler House appearing to use the old Black Hole entrance and possibly some of its queue. These two mazes now line up with the infamous “Terror of the Towers” to bring all the scaremaze action on park, and to add to the scarefactor the Zombies scarezone takes its place between Sonic-Spinball and X-Sector to raise the stakes after dark.
Other Scarefest attractions include “Patch’s Trick or Treat Party – Live on Stage” which appears to be at the bottom of Towers Street along with the Birds of Prey show. Also for young guests there is Franklin’s Freaky Farm in Old Macdonald’s Farm which includes some “freaky” animal friends and a spooky story time with Skelvin.
Finally in a surprising twist Alton Towers have used the map to announce to guests their 2012 offering as well as a potential name: Nemesis – What Lies Beneath. Whether this is the ride’s actual name or just an advertising tag-line is unknown, however after a year of no new attractions, 2012 is certainly looking an exciting season for the resort
