It’s been confirmed that The Ultimate Event will not return to Alton Towers for 2011. The event, held in May comprised of a day on park, followed by a Christian music concert held in the Air carpark. Traditionally, it has often attracted some of the largest crowds of the season.
A statement on the organiser’s website reads:
“Following numerous meetings and a great deal of thought and prayer, it is with regret that we announce that there will unfortunately be no Ultimate Event in 2011. Apologies to those who have been chasing us for dates for this year, but we have wanted to explore every possible avenue before this decision was made.
In light of this announcement we would like to direct you to a similar event, Big Church Day Out, where many of the acts from Ultimate 2010 will be performing. We will be supporting Big Church Day Out and hope that many of you can attend this year. For further information please visit www.bigchurchdayout.com
The Ultimate Event Team would like to thank you for your continued support of the Ultimate Event over the last 16 years. We do hope that we will be able to provide more Ultimate Events in future years. Watch this space…………”
Alton Towers are yet to release a full calendar of major events to be held over the course of the 2011 season, but as TowersTimes will bring you any news as soon as we get it.
