Alton Towers Resort are kicking off the 2010 season this weekend with the annual February Half Term opening. From 13-21 February, the theme park will open a wide range of rides and attractions from 10.00am to 4.00pm.
Rides including Nemesis and Oblivion for thrill seekers, Duel and Runaway Mine Train for families and Cloud Cuckoo Land for younger guests will be available as a curtain raiser to the main season. Amongst the highlights of this years event is the opening of Sonic Spinball – the refurbished Spinball Whizzer spinning coaster – for the first time!
Sharkbait Reef by Sea Life (Aquarium), The Towers ruins and the listed landscaped Gardens will also be available for guests to explore.
The event may also provide a sneek peak at what’s in store during the main 2010 season – when Th13teen and the newly refurbished Skyride transport system will open!
Admission to the theme park at this time of year starts from just £14.40 per person when booked online, with rates a reasonable £18.00 on the day. Queue’s at this time of year are generally reasonable and with more rides open this February than during any of the previous events, it’s a great opportunity to relieve the boredom and get a Winter adrenalin fix or family escape!
