It has emerged that Intamin will be the manufacturer for the 2010 coaster project.
Intamin were responsible for 2005 success Rita – Queen of Speed, and have also brought the classic Congo River Rapids to the park. It marks a departure for the park, after Nemesis, Oblivion and Air were all made by Bolliger & Mabillard.
Other Intamin rollercoasters in the UK include Stealth and Colossus, both at Thorpe Park in Surrey. The SW6 rollercoaster is touted as an Intamin Multi-Dimension model. Similar rollercoasters such as Piraten in Denmark feature bunny hops, twists, turns and steep drops – which all feature in the plans for 2010. What the world-first/dark ride section will include however remains highly secret.
