In 2014 guests were invited to stay the night in The Towers themselves for the very first time for an experience like no other at The Ultimate Sleepover!

Starting out as a seemingly harmless ghost hunt organised by ‘The Extreme Haunt Team’, things soon changed as the night progressed with the dark secret of the Towers revealing themselves.
The evening started with dinner at Swiss Cottage, giving guests their first opportunity to get to know the team of paranormal investigators.
After finishing the meal, guests then headed to the Towers in order to explore the ruins in the hunt for paranormal activity.
However, it was when guests had headed to bed that the most significant activity began, culminating in the entire group gathering to banish the entity that had been inadvertently summoned.
Will I be sharing a room with strangers?
You will be staying in dormitory style sleeping quarters, which will be split into smaller sleeping quarters that may be shared with other guests.
Is there access to bathroom facilities?
Toilets will be located outside the ruins and a host will escort you out to them if you need to use them.
Are there changing facilities?
There will be no changing facilities available.
Am I allowed alcoholic drinks during the experience?
Drinks will be available during your meal but not for the duration of the experience in the Towers ruins. Furthermore, you are not allowed to bring your own alcoholic beverages with you.
Do I need to bring my own sleeping bag or duvet?
Sleeping bags will be provided by the Alton Towers Resort.
Where do I park?
There will be a dedicated parking area for your car, the location of which will be confirmed closer to the event.
Where can I leave my luggage?
You will receive a welcome pack containing this information, however we recommend that you bring minimal luggage with you, due to the nature of the experience – suitcases will not be suitable.
What time does it finish?
The scare experience will finish at approximately 3am and breakfast will be served on resort in the morning.
Are there lockers available for valuables?
There will not be any lockers available in the ruins, but you may use the lockers located around the park. However, you will not have access to these once the overnight experience has begun.
The Ultimate Sleepover was the first time the Resort moved their overnight experience away from the resort hotels and, by using the Towers themselves as the venue, it was to prove to be their most terrifying experience yet.
This attraction was widely praised by guests for its immersive theatrical story and sheer scariness!
However, this was to be the final time that the Resort offered an overnight experience as part of their Scarefest roster. Instead, for 2015 the Resort opted to host an after hours extreme horror escape room in the form of Sub Species: Operation Lockdown.
