The Resort’s first blindfolded maze, The Haunting of Molly Crowe, took guests back in time to the exorcism of a cursed Victorian Manor House during Scarefest 2015.

The Haunting of Molly Crowe distinguished itself from the Resort’s other scare mazes with the fact that all guests were required to wear a hood. This was to both heighten their senses and protect their eyes from the beaks of the crows which Molly controlled.
The first scene took place outside of the Towers, where one of the members of the team who were undertaking the exorcism explained the story of Molly Crowe and the reason why guests were required to wear a hood.
Guests then made their way inside, with the maze utilising actors, sound and a range of other multi-sensory effects to take guests on a journey through Molly’s troubled life.
The experience culminated in an impressive, live-action finale where guests were told to take off their hoods, finding themselves in Molly Crowe’s bedroom for the completion of the exorcism. However, Molly’s spirit was seemingly much stronger than anticipated, appearing to guests in this final scene, first suspended in the air and then proceeding to chase guests out from the Manor House.
In a clever use of space, the entrance and exit from the maze was actually via the same doorway of the Towers, divided into two.
2015 brought a significant shake-up to Scarefest’s line-up of attractions, with The Haunting of Molly Crowe debuting alongside Sub Species: The End Games as two completely new scare mazes.
Although the maze was commended for its original take on a blindfolded experience and impressive finale, it was generally seen as the weakest maze of 2015. Therefore it didn’t make a comeback for 2016, with the exorcism seemingly successful.
In its place was Altonville Mine Tours: Uncover the Legend of the Skin Snatchers, a more conventional and highly themed scare maze experience.
