House of Monsters saw guests join a monster hunting vlogger on his quest to discover the truth about residents of a disused house, in this family maze first introduced for Scarefest 2016.

It all began after an online vlogger sought to become a modern day monster hunter after his investigations lead him to believe monsters existed and lived in a spooky disused house. Not brave enough to go alone, he asked his online followers to join him on his quest to the abandoned house to see if it was a case of mistaken identity or whether he’d really discovered a groups of 21st century ghouls.
Using a room by room walkthrough format, guests made their way through a series of rooms, each one occupied by one of the residents of the house, who would give guests interactive tasks to complete in order to progress through the attraction.
The attraction had a total duration of approximately 25-30 minutes.
Upon being introduced in 2016, House of Monsters represented a new type of attraction in the line-up – a family maze. With all of the rooms themed to an incredibly high level of detail and a relatively long duration, many surprisingly regarded it as one of the best attractions that Scarefest has seen.
House of Monsters returned for Scarefest 2017. Whilst the characters encountered and the sequence of rooms remained the same, there were a number of changes to help improve the flow of the story. Gorgle the Mummy’s greenhouse was now home to Venus, a giant meat eating plant, instead of the shower used in 2015. The ending to the attraction was also revamped with it becoming a much more distinctive maze style ending featuring drop panels, plant tentacles dangling from the ceiling, and even some nods to past scare mazes.
2018 saw the addition of a new room featuring new characters Gill and Fred, as well as changes to the rooms featuring Skeleton John and Venom. Nonetheless, this was to be the final Scarefest for House of Monsters, with the maze indirectly replaced by a new family maze in the 2019 line-up – Darkest Depths. The space utilised by House of Monsters would subsequently go on to be utilised by Gangsta Granny: The Ride.

Scarefest 2016 saw the Resort add a new type of attraction to the line-up, that being the family maze, House of Monsters.
Scarefest 2017
Family maze House of Monsters returned for its second year, with the most notable change being a revamped more distinctive maze-style ending.
Scarefest 2018
House of Monsters returned for a final Scarefest, featuring new characters and changes to some of the rooms within the family maze.
