Whilst the weather may have defeated Alton Towers Resort’s roller coasters last weekend, it would take more than a bit of snow to prevent the Resort’s Entertainments Team from putting on a show! From the return of an old favourite, to the apperance of the mysterious Beornen, we take a look at the fantastic range of entertainment which was on show during opening weekend.

Alton Towers Traffic Patrol

Having been absent for the past two seasons, the Alton Towers Traffic Patrol returned to welcome guests on Towers Street bringing their unique sense of fun and of course ensuring all guests made their way down Towers Street in an orderly fashion.

Power Stilts

The ever popular Power Stilts acrobats also made a welcome return, showing off their impressive aerial skills in the Entrance Plaza and down Towers Street.

The Beornen

The snow and wind wasn’t going to deter The Beornen from their worship as they connect with the elements and encourage guests to join them in their worship. Wicker Man stood dormant, and would have to wait a little longer for the first of the chosen ones to board.

Fire Dancers

Alongside The Beornen, Fire Dancers also joined in the weekend’s entertainment.

It was fantastic to see so much entertainment on show for opening weekend, and whilst the weather may have thrown everything it could at the Resort, the Entertainments Team have to be commended for persevering and delivering excellent interactions with guests, something which really lifted the atmosphere. We really hope that this level of entertainment is a positive sign of things to come for the 2018 season.
