Alton Towers Resort have today confirmed that Toxicator, a new thrill ride located in Forbidden Valley, will open at the start of the 2025 season on Saturday 15th March.

As part of the announcement of Toxicator’s opening date, which follows the reveal of the ride’s name in January, the Resort have shared drone footage of the Huss Suspended Top Spin in action as it continues to undergo testing. The footage is said to give a hint at the intense spin patterns and centrifugal forces that riders will face.

Toxicator is billed as the latest technology from The Phalanx, being used by the organisation to extract and refine toxic saliva from the Nemesis creature through subjection to extreme centrifugal forces. The chemical solution formed from Nemesis’ saliva is reportedly so powerful that it can melt anything it touches. This solution is represented by green-lit water fountains situated on both sides of the ride which also feature in the footage, dramatically shooting up around the attraction.

The first official look at Toxicator in operation also provides a sense of how it is set to dominate Forbidden Valley, reaching a maximum height of 78ft as a result of its 16ft elevated platform. This will also give spectators the unique opportunity to watch the entire experience from underneath.

A closer look at the videos and images released by the Resort also reveals some further details about the ride. Most notable is that the two theming features on either side are giant tanks, which will seemingly feature screens to display their toxic contents, although these were not functional in the first-look footage. The tank on the far side also looks to serve as Toxicator’s operator’s cabin. Nonetheless, it is evident that Alton Towers have strategically captured the footage so as not to reveal the appearance of the platform on which the ride sits. However, there are some brief glimpses which indicate that it will feature some toxic green theming touches – with an email from the Resort stating that the chemical solution produced from Nemesis’ saliva can turn “even concrete and steel into a viscous liquid form”, we could perhaps see some interesting features.

Speaking about the announcement, Bianca Sammut, Vice President of Alton Towers Resort, said:

“We’re excited to be giving fans a flavour of the truly ‘spincredible’ power of Toxicator.

“From the 15th March those brave enough to submit to the spin will be able to experience the latest that Forbidden Valley has to offer.”

The 15th March opening date means that guests will have the opportunity to also experience Toxicator at night during Alton After Dark, which will see the theme park open until 8pm on 15th – 16th, 21st – 23rd, and 28th – 29th March.
