Alton Towers will be rocking through the ages at this year’s fireworks spectaculars, with a show that will take visitors on a magical musical tour through the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s.
Telling the history of the Towers through music, the 20 minute show will integrate a funky, pop based soundtrack guaranteed to get everyone’s feet tapping, with the usual array of stunning fireworks, lasers, special effects and video. Many of the musical montages have been specially created for the show and feature easily recognisable classics such as the Austin Powers theme, Thunderbirds, Disco Inferno, Can’t Stop Til You Get Enough, Relax, Two Tribes and Wild Boys. The stunning finale will feature the emotional “Music” by John Miles.
Commenting on the show, Ben O’Hara, Head of Entertainments and Show Director, said “This year represents something of a departure for us as we are tapping into the emotions released by different types of music, rather than relying totally on fireworks to create the wow factor. The whole event will be very involving for the audience, with music that pretty much every age group should recognise.”
The show runs at 7pm on 23rd, 24th, 29th, 30th and 31st October, with many of the Park’s rides running until 9pm.
Tickets are priced £28.50 for adults and £23.50, which includes a full day entrance to the theme park and the fireworks finale in the evening.
