Alton Towers Resort have revealed details of their Festival of Thrills event, a celebration of the resort’s iconic rollercoasters.
With a season full of “thrilliant” events planned, including the returning Mardi Gras, Oktoberfest, Scarefest, Fireworks and Christmas, Festival of Thrills is the first of a strong line up of celebrations that will takeover the resort this year.
Billed as a “celebration of the big seven rollercoasters as they reawaken this spring”, the attractions will come to life by featuring an appropriately themed live music act adjacent to the relevant attraction. With stages currently being constructed in each area, the artists will play from 12pm each day, and feature a variety of genres including pop rock, drum and bass, gothic, classical and grunge, to suit all tastes.
Chris Carter, Events and Entertainments Director at Alton Towers Resort said:
This year we plan to host a series of thrilliant events which will provide fun and thrills for families and thrill-seekers throughout the season like never before.
We are really excited to kick off the 2022 season with a brand-new event for our guests. Festival of Thrills will be a thrilliant celebration of our awesome world-class rollercoasters, with a host of fantastic live music which will represent the personality and iconic backstories of the rides.
