Alton Towers Resort have today confirmed their 2019 theme park season opening times, alongside this year’s Early Ride Time offering.
As in 2018, the theme park will be open between 10am and 4pm on off peak weekdays; 10am until 5pm on weekends and school holidays; and 10am until 6pm during the summer school holidays. Scarefest and Fireworks will once again see the Resort open from 10am until 9pm, however on these dates there will be no Early Ride Time available.
Also confirmed today is the offering for Early Ride time which allows guests staying in on Resort accommodation and Merlin Annual Pass holders the opportunity to ride selected attractions from 9:30am, half an hour before the rest of the theme park opens to the public. Once again, Wicker Man heads the Early Ride Time line-up, with Oblivion and Enterprise also available. For younger guests, a selection of attractions in CBeebies Land will be on offer. The full line-up is as follows:
Mutiny Bay
Wicker Man
X-Sector
Oblivion
EnterpriseCBeebies Land
Get Set Go Treetop Adventure
Go Jetters Vroomster Zoom Ride
In the Night Garden Magical Boat Ride
Justin’s House Pie-O-Matic Factory
Numtums Number-go-round
Octonauts Rollercoaster Adventure
Postman Pat Parcel Post
Initial reaction to the theme park opening times for the new season has been mixed with many dismayed to still see off-peak days with a closing time of 4pm. Some have expressed concern that should guests wish to do the Resort’s latest addition, The Alton Towers Dungeon, on a day with a 4pm close, they would have just 5 hours to experience the rest of the theme park. However, the Resort’s ‘Opening Times’ web page states that the current published times are a minimum and may be updated closer to the date, and that opening times can be extended on the day as happened on a number of occasions during 2018.
