Although there was the return of many of the resort’s annual events, it was time to say a fond farewell to Corkscrew at the end of the season after its 28 year run.
Caribbean Beach Party Weekend
Between 18th January and 9th March 9th, guests were invited to go totally tropical. As well as a trip to the Waterpark, the event included limbo, a steel band and a fancy dress competition, culminating in a Beach Party at Quenchers Bar on the Saturday night.
Half Term Hullabaloo
During the 2008 February half term the park opened to guests earlier then ever before with selected rides open as a preview for the 2008 season.
Scarefest
Building upon the success of 2007’s event, some of the park’s favourite Scarefest attractions returned along with one or two new frights.
The Final Twist of the Screw
At the end of the 2008 season, enthusiasts were given the opportunity to celebrate the life of the Corkscrew with one last ride.
Winter at Alton Towers
Once again the Alton Towers magic and festive spirit united at the resort during the Winter period, with a variety of packages and breaks on offer to guests.
