Once again, the resort held a range of different events throughout the season, providing guests with an alternative way to experience the Alton Towers magic. Throughout the year the park was chocolafied, transformed into a beach and turned into a Winter Wonderland!
Chocolate Towers
During the 2006 Easter period, Alton Towers Resort became chocoholic heaven, with a chocolate volcano erupting at the bottom of Towers Street.
Draw-A-Toon
Over the Summer the television channel, Cartoon Network, put on live shows around the resort featuring their popular cartoon characters.
Great British Bucket & Spade
In 2006, all the fun of the seaside arrived as the park became home to Staffordshire’s first and only beach, complete with deck chairs.
Gaydar: Gaydays
Alton Towers opened its gates for one of the longest periods in its history, when Gay profile site, Gaydar, semi-hired out the park for the day.
Electric Towers
Although the display was shortened to a 3 day event in 2006, the show was set to a new story of an electrical storm taking place above The Towers themselves.
Winter
The Towers was the place to be this Winter, with Santa coming to visit once again bringing with him resort wide festive-cheer and entertainment.
