Alton Towers have won the ‘Best Seasonal Attraction/Maze’ category for the 2009 variation of ‘Terror of the Towers’ at the Screamie awards held in Central London last week.
Fighting off stiff competition from both within their own park and further afield, the Alton Towers team have pulled off a major award after the success of the attraction thrilled thousands.
‘Terror of the Towers: What Lies Within’ beat ‘The Field of 1000 Screams’ (Alton Towers), ‘The Asylum’ (Thorpe Park), ‘The Cellar’ (Tulleys Farm) and ‘Asylum Hill’ (Tom Spindler) to the award, which is the second in as many years after the resort won it for ‘Field of 1000 Screams’ in the 2009 awards.
Other notable awards were for the London Bridge Experience (Best Year Round Attraction), Scaresville at Kentwell Hall (Best Seasonal Attraction), Spooky World at Applejacks Farm (Best Family Attraction) and Terenzi Horror Nights at Europa-Park (Best International Attraction).
